A series of 3 herbal classes will be given at DRML on Monday evenings from 6:30 – 7:30. There will be general information given, as well as product recipes during each session. The space is limited to 15 people due to needed table space. Besides the items listed below, please bring a notebook/paper and a writing implement to take notes if desired. Specific recipes will already be printed for you to take home. Please call DRML at 899 – 4962 to reserve your space today.
1. September 19th – “Bug Off’ *$2.00 donation will help defray the cost of materials used
This class will entail how to make a :
“Tick/Deer Fly/Mosquito Repellent
“Anti – Itch Salve”
Bring a small glass jelly jar (2 or 4 oz) with a screw type lid (used lid & band) for repellent
Bring a small 1 oz glass jar with screw lid (baby food jar, etc) for salve
2. September 26th – “Kitchen Pharmacy/First Aid” *$2.00 donation will help defray the cost of materials used.
This class will entail learning about the healing properties of common herbs in your kitchen and what to do for common medical issues (bites, stings, bleeding, wound care, etc.).
Bring several small glass containers with lids.
3. October 3rd – “Winter Wellness” *$3.00 donation will help defray the cost of materials.
In this class you will learn how to make a:
“Fire Cider-ish” (trademark issues) Immunity Building Tonic
Fever Tea
Cold Tea
Vapor Rub Salve for congestion
Sore Throat/Cough syrup * Bring 2 to 4 oz. of raw honey (organic)
Bring a small 4 oz. glass jar (jelly) with a screw lid & band for Fire Cider-ish
Disposable gloves (for working with horseradish & garlic)
Small cutting board & paring knife
Small glass container (2 or 4 oz) with screw type lid (for sore throat syrup)
