Tai Chi for Health and Wellness (for those 50+) offered by the Champlain Valley Agency on Aging (CVAA) Once again, CVAA Tai Chi will be held at DRML on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, from 9-10 a.m. starting on September 13th. Tai Chi is recommended by the CDC so you can stretch and bend without injury, pain or fear of falling. It has been proven to reduce arthritic pain, while increasing both lower and upper body strength and improving balance and agility. Centers for Disease Control and Injury Prevention (CDC) report this program reduces falls by 55% and recurrent falls by 70%. Additional research shows Tai Chi can help reduce symptoms for people with Parkinson’s, fibromyalgia, diabetes, hypertension, lower back pain, and depress. Take a step toward maintaining your safety, health and independence. Classes are offered at no charge to adults 50+, but you must register. Call the library at 899-4962 to register. Classes are led by certified instructors.
