What is a Friends Group?
Most libraries have community members interested in lending their support, time, and skills to make the library a better place. A friends of the library group can be self defined, and can include working with the staff and trustees to help the library achieve its short and long term goals. Friends can take on special projects, sponsor programs, keep the staff informed about the needs of the community and participate in fund-raising events. Friends can help regularly, volunteer once a year, and/or offer financial support.
Why does DRML need a Friends group?
Deborah Rawson Memorial Library has become a popular community space to meet, read, and enjoy time together. Each year we serve more patrons and sponsor more programs. We are fortunate to have a solid foundation of community support. To build on this foundation, community members are needed to join the friends group and help our library continue to achieve excellence. Membership is free.
If you are interested in being a Friend of DRML, please call the library at 802-899-4962. Thank you!
