Deborah Rawson Book Lovers are reading “The Known World” by Edward P. Jones for their Tuesday, Dec. 10, book discussion, which is open to everyone and begins at 7 p.m. New York Times Book Review critic at large A. O. Scott talked to Jones about “the historical novel set in antebellum Virginia, which focuses on the unusual phenomenon of black enslavers.” The book was recently voted the best work of fiction by an American writer in the 21st century.
