Laurel Shelmandine has worked in hospital and physician practice administration at many of this country’s largest academic medical centers and highly specialized hospitals. For these institutions, she worked primarily in revenue cycle (billing and insurance payment reconciliation) for over 30 years since starting with IDX in 1990. In this capacity she has acquired significant knowledge and understanding of the Medicare and Medicaid impact to patients and families. Laurel has used this knowledge to help multiple people as they dealt with Medicare, Medicaid and end-of-life care.
