The Underhill Historical Society is sponsoring an exhibit of Walt Scheffley art at the Deborah Rawson Library during the month of November, beginning with an opening reception at 2 PM, Sunday, November 9th. All are welcome!
Walt and his family lived on Stevensville Road from 1953 to 1999,when he moved to Minneapolis to live near his son. His three daughters will be at the reception to tell stories of their father and show their pieces of his art.
Walt painted portraits and Vermont scenes that often included his friends and neighbors. He used ordinary latex house paints on odd canvasses such as tree slabs, barns, and masonite. His pieces were known for their detail and witty themes.
